Various Event Log Errors (with some solutions)
By Qwinn at 2016-08-14, 5516 view . 0 favoriteHello! Before I list a few errors I'm getting, let me say I very much like the free product and may even upgrade to the paid version, and being able to resolve these errors would definitely make that more likely.
Okay, first, let me say that I *think* despite these errors, backups work and can be restored properly. In fact, it seems better than what I used to use, AOMEI Backupper, which has unfortunately been horribly screwed up by the Windows 10 Anniversary Update (it actually blew away my backup partition :( Hence why I'm here!
Disk Master Free does already seem superior to AOMEI though. When AOMEI was working, after a restore I'd always have to redownload all my mail, my restore points would be gone, and the search index would have to be rebuilt. The first two didn't happen on my one test with Disk Master so far! Just the index issue, and I think I can resolve that.
Now, to the 3 classes of errors I've encountered. I think I've resolved two of them. This is on a clean install of Windows 10 Anniversary Update, by the way.
Error 1:
Log Name: Application
Event 4879, MSDTC Client 2
Source: MSDTC Client 2
Level: Warning
User: N/A
MSDTC encountered an error (HR=0x80000171) while attempting to establish a secure connection with system MyComputerName.
I was able to get rid of these errors by giving MSDTC permissions to get through the Windows Firewall (private and public), and additionally going to Component Services -> Computers -> My Computer -> Distributed Transaction Coordinator -> Local DTC and adjusting the Security parameters to allow traffic as well. Is this expected? Is there a way to avoid having to open up this security? I *only* get these errors when running a Qiling backup.
Error 2: SearchIndexer.exe usually fails during a backup:
Event 1000, Application Error
Faulting application name: SearchIndexer.exe, version: 7.0.14393.0, time stamp: 0x5789981f

I've resolved this by shutting down the Windows Search service prior to doing a backup, and turning it back on after. (I tried a few various ways of disabling it permanently, don't really need it, but doing so breaks some apps like Groove Music, making it unable to load your music files properly - every song winds up belonging to an Unknown Artist).
Error 3: Two VSS Errors during every backup. These might be harmless, not sure. The second message, the "warning", says the operation completed successfully. The only possible solution for getting rid of the errors I've found is to change the hidden/active properties of my hidden UEFI partitions. This can blow away the drive if not done perfectly, so kinda loathe to try it, and hoping there's an alternate solution to be found here.

Any information would be appreciated.
I did note that in this Comparison page on your website:
http://www.idiskhome.com/main/product_free_comp.shtml
...the feature "GPT & UEFI Boot Supported" is checked for the Pro version and not for the free version. Since I am on UEFI secure boot, and it appears to be working (despite the errors), could you clarify what this means, please?
Thanks for any help. I do like the product so far better than any alternatives, even with these errors, and assuming it doesn't blow up on me in the future.
