Resizing a partition

Every time I attempt to resize a partition, it gives me an error: Require administrator privileges to perform this operation, please log in with an administrator account and try again.

I am the admin...so I tried to run the app as an administrator...no luck. I have had no luck doing anything other than backing up with this suite of tools.
